Heading to Bahrain? A Twise Bahrain eSIM lets you buy mobile data online, receive your QR code instantly by email, and get connected the moment you land. Use it for maps, ride-hailing, hotel messages, translation and bookings, without roaming bills or a trip to a SIM shop.

Choose a Data eSIM if Bahrain is part of a Middle East or Asia–Africa trip, or a World eSIM if your route goes further. Hotspot is supported, so you can share data with a laptop or another phone.

Please note: Twise Data eSIMs are data plans. They do not include a phone number or standard SMS. If you need calls and SMS, choose the Orange option in our World eSIM range.

  • Instant QR code delivery by email
  • No physical SIM swapping
  • Works alongside your home SIM on dual-SIM phones
  • Daily plans (1–30 days) and fixed-data plans (5–30 days)
  • Hotspot supported
  • Regional and World coverage options, including a calls and SMS option

Which Bahrain eSIM Should You Choose?

The Bahrain category has two groups of eSIM: Data eSIM (regional coverage) and World eSIM (global coverage). The right choice depends on your route and on whether you need calls and SMS, not only on how long you stay.

Twise eSIM Group Coverage Plan type Validity Best for
Asia–Africa 10 Countries Data eSIM Bahrain + supported Asia–Africa destinations Daily and fixed Daily: 1–30 days. Fixed: 5–30 days Short holidays and multi-destination regional trips

Choose Your Bahrain eSIM Plan

Daily plans vs fixed-data plans

A daily plan gives you a set amount of data each day for the number of days you choose (1–30 days). It suits travelers who want predictable usage.

A fixed-data plan gives you one allowance to use across the validity period (5–30 days). It suits travelers whose usage varies, for example heavy navigation and video calls on some days and little use on others.

Asia–Africa 10 Countries eSIM

A good regional option if you are visiting Bahrain together with other supported destinations in the Asia–Africa zone. It comes in daily plans (1–30 days) and fixed-data plans (5–30 days), which suits both short holidays and multi-stop trips. Saudi Arabia is included, so a trip across the King Fahd Causeway is covered by the same eSIM.

Middle East 5 Countries eSIM

The more focused option for travelers moving between Bahrain and other supported Middle Eastern destinations. It is sold as fixed-data plans from 5 to 30 days, with one eSIM across all supported countries, including Saudi Arabia.

World eSIM

Choose this when your itinerary goes beyond the Middle East or covers several regions, and Bahrain is just one stop. Data plans are available as daily (1–30 days) and fixed-data (5–30 days) options. The World eSIM range also includes an Orange eSIM that supports calls and SMS.

Compare Bahrain eSIM Plans

Do you need calls and SMS?

Most travelers only need data. Maps, ride-hailing, WhatsApp, email and bookings all run on mobile data, and your home SIM can stay active for calls and verification codes.

Choose the World eSIM with Orange if you want to make and receive calls and SMS without relying on your home SIM, for example when your home SIM cannot be kept on or your roaming rates are high. Check the product page for what is included.

Match the plan to your trip

Short trip, 1–5 days: A small daily plan usually covers maps, messaging, ride-hailing, email and occasional browsing.

Holiday, 7–14 days: Compare daily and fixed plans. Social media, navigation, video and general browsing use the most data. If your usage is steady, a daily plan is simpler. If it is uneven, a fixed plan gives more flexibility.

Longer stay, 15–30 days: Choose a larger fixed-data plan or a longer-validity plan for business travel, extended stays, or heavy daily use. If you use hotspot for a laptop, size up, because shared connections use data quickly.

Bahrain plus other countries: List every country on your route and check each one against the coverage of the Asia–Africa, Middle East and World plans. Pick the narrowest plan that includes all of them.

What a Twise Bahrain eSIM Does and Doesn’t Do

Bahrain eSIM

A travel eSIM is a digital SIM you install by scanning a QR code. It gives your phone mobile data without a physical card.

What you get with a Data eSIM or standard World eSIM:

  • Mobile data for maps, ride-hailing, messaging apps, bookings, translation and browsing
  • Hotspot, so you can share data with a laptop, tablet or another phone
  • Dual-SIM compatibility, so your home SIM stays active
  • Instant QR delivery by email, so you can set up before you travel

What you do not get with these plans:

  • A phone number
  • Standard calls and SMS. Calls and verification texts go to your home SIM.

What the World eSIM with Orange adds:

  • Calls and SMS in addition to data. Check the product page for the included allowance and coverage.

Why Use an eSIM in Bahrain?

Get connected without finding a SIM shop. Buy online and prepare your connectivity before departure, instead of searching for a physical SIM after a long flight.

Keep your main SIM for calls and OTPs. On compatible dual-SIM phones, use Twise for data and keep your home number available for calls, SMS and verification codes.

Use one eSIM across multiple countries. Regional and World plans let you move between Bahrain and other supported destinations without replacing SIMs.

Roaming charges vary widely by carrier and plan, so check your home rates before you rely on roaming.

When a Bahrain physical SIM may be better

A local SIM can suit longer-term visitors or anyone who needs a Bahraini phone number, local voice services or a domestic carrier package.

When a Twise travel eSIM makes more sense

A travel eSIM suits short-term visitors, data-first travelers, people who want connectivity ready before arrival, and anyone continuing to other countries. If you also want calls and SMS, the World eSIM with Orange covers that need without a local SIM.

Check If Your Phone Supports eSIM

Check this before you buy. Compatibility is the most common reason an eSIM does not work.

Your phone must support eSIM. Not every smartphone does. Compatible families include recent iPhones, Google Pixel phones, Samsung Galaxy flagships and selected Android devices. See the full Twise eSIM-compatible phones list.

Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. An eSIM-compatible phone may still reject a travel eSIM if it is locked to your home carrier. If you are unsure, ask your carrier. The Twise Help Center can help 24/7 too.

Quick checks:

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → look for Add eSIM
  • Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → look for Add eSIM
  • Google Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM/eSIM

How to Buy and Install Your Bahrain eSIM

  1. Choose your plan. Compare Asia–Africa, Middle East and World options by destinations, trip length, expected data use, and whether you need calls and SMS.
  2. Check out on the Twise website.
  3. Check your email. Your QR code and installation instructions arrive instantly.
  4. Install before departure, on stable Wi-Fi.
  5. Activate after arrival. Select the Twise eSIM for mobile data and turn on Data Roaming for that eSIM line.

Important: each QR code can be installed only once. Keep it private, and do not delete the eSIM from your phone after installing. If you remove it, you cannot reinstall it with the same code.

iPhone: Settings → Cellular/Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → scan the code from your email → label the line “Twise Bahrain”. In Bahrain, select it for mobile data and turn on Data Roaming. If the QR code does not scan, you can enter the details manually using the SM-DP+ address and activation code.

Follow your plan’s activation rules, because they explain when validity begins.

Using Hotspot With Your Bahrain eSIM

Twise Bahrain eSIMs support hotspot, so you can share your connection with a laptop, tablet or travel companion’s phone. This is handy for business trips and for working from a hotel or café.

Hotspot uses data faster than phone use alone, because laptops update software and sync files in the background. If you plan to work from a laptop, choose a larger fixed-data plan or a higher daily allowance, and pause cloud syncing and automatic updates while connected.

What We See Most Often With Bahrain eSIMs

Twise’s support team helps travelers with activation and connection issues every day. These are the problems that come up most often, and how to avoid them.

  1. The phone is still carrier-locked. The eSIM option exists, but installation fails or the plan does not connect. Ask your carrier to confirm your phone is unlocked before you travel.
  2. Data Roaming is off. The eSIM is installed and selected, but nothing loads. Twise travel eSIMs need Data Roaming switched on for the eSIM line. Keep it off for your home SIM to avoid roaming charges.
  3. Your home SIM is still handling data. On dual-SIM phones, check that mobile data is set to the Twise eSIM. Otherwise your phone may use your home carrier’s expensive roaming data.
  4. The eSIM was deleted by mistake. Because each QR code installs once, deleting the eSIM usually means you cannot add it back. Keep it on your phone, even after the trip ends.
  5. Verification codes do not arrive. Data eSIMs and standard World eSIMs do not receive SMS, so verification codes go to your home SIM. Keep it active, or switch banking apps to authenticator-based verification before you leave.
  6. The phone switches networks near the causeway. Bahrain connects to Saudi Arabia via the King Fahd Causeway, and near the crossing your phone can move between Bahraini and Saudi networks. Saudi Arabia is included in the Asia–Africa 10 and Middle East 5 plans, so you stay covered. If the connection drops or feels slow, try manual network selection or toggle airplane mode, and confirm Data Roaming is on.

Practical Tips for Using Your eSIM in Bahrain

  • Install before you fly, over stable Wi-Fi, so you do not depend on airport connectivity after landing.
  • Keep your home SIM active for calls and OTPs if you use a data-only eSIM.
  • Avoid accidental home-SIM roaming. Confirm which line is selected for mobile data and turn off automatic data switching if your phone has it.
  • Monitor fixed-data usage, especially if you stream, upload videos or use hotspot.
  • Check coverage before crossing borders. Make sure every country on your route is in your Asia–Africa, Middle East or World plan.
